theHUB. Ibiza 〜Where creativity and community intersect〜

Ibiza is located in the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean Sea, an hour’s flight from Barcelona, Spain.
Ibiza is a famous resort island, said to have the most beautiful sea in the Mediterranean, and is visited by celebrities and families from all over the world.
It is also known as “the best party island in the world,” attracting world-famous DJs and many party freaks in the summer.TheHub. is located in such a great place.

OYAIDE : What exactly is theHUB?

Sasha: theHUB. is really important to me since I wanted to have a studio set up on the island that was walk-in and plug-and-play.

theHUB. in Ibiza is a wonderful working environment with a really beautiful social side to it. I’ve been using theHUB. to work on and off for the last few years. When we realized there was a space we could possibly turn into a studio, it was really exciting.

The team there has developed beautifully. Mike got involved, Jono, Nathan, Sam—everyone’s energy has transformed that place into one of the jewels in the crown of Ibiza. I just really, really love working there.

We did most of our writing and brainstorming for the immersive Da Vinci Genius project there. It’s such a beautiful place to work. The kitchen is open during the day, and the food is wonderful. I always bump into interesting people there and have great conversations. Later in the day, the bar’s open, and that’s just a wonderful plus.

Mike: theHUB. is like a co-working space in paradise, but it’s more than that. It’s a real community with no ego and no hierarchy, filled with entrepreneurs, freelancers, creatives, visionaries, and amazingly talented people who are building something meaningful.

At theHUB. there are some beautifully designed zones with hot desks, private offices, high-spec meeting rooms, soundproof phone booths, wellness programs, fitness classes, meditation sessions, and regular events such as members’ lunches, networking talks, and creative workshops that are designed to spark real collaboration, not surface-level connections.

There’s also a café and coffee shop, a cocktail bar, a gym, and a lush outdoor area where people come together to connect, create, and recharge. It’s completely transforming the working culture of Ibiza.

There’s even a WhatsApp group with around 250 members where people swap resources, post gigs, share gear, and get introduced to collaborators who actually move the needle. Every person in this space is building a legacy, and that energy is contagious.

At the heart of theHUB. is theHUB. Ibiza Studios (T.H.I.S.) a fully loaded creative facility for music production, DJing, and the music industry. It’s a professional recording studio, mixing and mastering suite, and educational space that supports artists at every level, from emerging talent to globally touring headliners.

Nestled in a tropical haven just seven minutes from Ibiza Town, the studio blends rustic finca charm with cutting-edge sound. It’s plug-and-play ready for producers, engineers, and DJs, with industry-standard gear that guarantees clarity, depth, and impact in every session.

The entire signal chain is powered by Oyaide cables, so whether you’re tracking vocals, mixing stems, or recording a live set, you’re getting pristine audio from input to output.

From livestreams and artist residencies to full DJ lessons and production sessions, this is where ideas become tracks, and tracks leave the room ready for release.

Both Sasha and Mike are known to play at theHUB.’s annual Ibiza season opening party at theHUB. – dubbed as “The best office party in the world”

OYAIDE : How did Mike and Sasha meet, and why did they decide to start together?

Sasha and Mike met in 2011 when Sasha was making the switch to using Traktor. Mike was the lead DJ Product Specialist for Native Instruments. They did Traktor sessions at his studio in NYC, and from there, Mike also occasionally did some Tour Managing for him. In 2022, Mike decided to move to Ibiza, which was around the time when theHUB. The Ibiza Studios team was being reborn, and Sasha invited Mike to be a part of the team.

OYAIDE : Why did you want to include Oyaide Cables? Advantages that led to the decision to install.

Sasha: So it was it was Mike who actually introduced me to these cables. He explained the quality of them and how they were far superior, and you can just feel that, and I think you can hear it in the sound as well. You want to have cables you can rely on. You don’t want to be sitting there second-guessing yourself. The way the cables are made, their toughness, the strength of them, and the quality of them is apparent. Even the way they packaged them, you know you can take care of the cables when you’re touring; they’re not just thrown in a bag.

I then had the pleasure of going to the headquarters in Tokyo and meeting the team there. The hospitality was wonderful. Seeing where the cables are made and meeting the people behind them was a really wonderful experience.

Mike: I have been using Oyaide cables for well over a decade. They are the best cables on the market. I first experienced Oyaide cables in Japan at a gig with Richie Hawtin and Dubfire in 2009. I was blown away by their sound quality and professional feel. I am still using the same cables that I got that day, which is a testament to the quality of the cables, surviving hundreds of world tours. The sound quality of the d+ class S RCA cables is unrivaled, and I notice they add a sort of “beefiness” and texture to the sound, which many people comment on the pristine quality of the sound. When I have extra time to set up, I prefer using the analog RCA cables over digital since it gives a sort of warmth and texture that I love, and people do notice. Since I use Traktor live on stage, the stability of the USB connections is paramount. I trust the d+ USB cables on stage to be stable and call me crazy, but I think they even make the sound quality even better than regular USB cables. I have been 100% Oyaide everything since the day I got them—no compromises, ever.

When joining theHUB. Ibiza Studios team, my first thought is, “We need to get Oyaide cables for the studio.” To be a world-class recording and music production / DJ studio, it is necessary that we have the best equipment possible. I want the best signal going through the chain in every step of the way to get the best possible audio. theHUB. Ibiza Studios is literally “powered by Oyaide,” and we could not be more grateful.

OYAIDE :What kind of equipment do you have, and how do you use the cables?

{How have you been operating the system since you introduced it}

Our studio is fully equipped with industry-standard gear, including:

  • The full list is available under “Studio Gear List” at  https://www.thehubibizastudios.com/thestudio

We’ve been using Oyaide cables for the past two years, and they’re the backbone and nervous system of the entire setup.

    活用例:

    • TRS/XLR → Mics, Monitors, and Instruments
    • d+ USB / USB-C for laptop and controller connections
    • RCA → DJ Decks
    • S/PDIF → Digital I/O
    • LANケーブルPioneer gear

It’s a complete Oyaide system from top to bottom.

OYAIDE : Has anything changed since you installed the Oyaide Cables?

What effect do you feel the introduction of the cables has had

We frequently receive positive feedback from studio users about the exceptional sound quality and the overall professional atmosphere.

We also regularly collaborate with Morna International College on concerts, during which we often get questions about our microphone cabling.

At events, many attendees comment on how professional the setup looks and how great the sound is.

OYAIDE : Why do you care about quality?

Mike: Sound quality is the most important thing for me, and giving people the best experience they can possibly have. A sound system is only as good as the weakest thing in the signal chain. If you’re using cheap RCA cables, that can really defeat the purpose of even having a good sound system in the first place. On the flipside, having quality cables can give the listeners a blissful experience with clarity, warmth, and present the music in the best possible way, which is what it’s all about for me.

OYAIDE : What kind of people and artists come to theHUB. Ibiza?

OYAIDE :
You have a nice bar and restaurant at theHUB.Ibiza. What kind of events will be held here?

OYAIDE : What kind of events will be held here?

As a co-working space, we can’t stress enough how much COFFEE fuels the hard-working entrepreneurs, creatives, and hustlers at theHUB. We love our Bellavita Cafe coffee, breakfasts, and healthy lunches, and having Bar 85 and their delicious drinks and cocktails is always a nice touch for the coworkers and artists who come through our doors. A lot of the events are “HUBwide.” Sometimes the bar is a part of it, sometimes the cafe. It depends on the event.

Our events are diverse and vibrant, featuring:

  • Live concerts
  • Networking events
  • TED Talk-style gatherings
  • heHUB. Cinema during the Christmas season
  • The hugely popular HUB. Christmas Market
  • And the Season Opening Party in April, held just before IMS — often described as one of the most legendary parties of the Ibiza season.

OYAIDE : Tell us about the music scene in Ibiza.

Sasha: Yeah, and what am I doing in Ibiza this summer? I’ve got a lot of gigs on.

So yeah, I’ve got a busy summer in Ibiza, and I’m really looking forward to that. Yeah, I think that’s it.

Mike: The music scene here is unrivaled. There are always 10-20 amazing parties going on every night of the week. There’s something for everyone.

This year is set to be one of the best seasons Ibiza has seen in decades. Everyone is super excited for the unveiling of The Night League’s new club[UNVRS], which will host the return of Carl Cox’s Ibiza residency as well as Eric Prydz Holosphere 2.0, Elrow, Anyma, Fisher Jamie Jones Paradise & more.

This season in Ibiza is shaping up to be truly unforgettable.

Carl Cox is launching his brand-new residency, while Eric Prydz’s HOLOSPHERE 2.0, elrow, Anyma, FISHER, and Jamie Jones’ Paradise are all set to return with massive shows.

Amnesia is kicking off the season with a legendary party, starting strong with a special edition of Cocoon featuring Richie Hawtin and Sven Väth. Expect big things from Pyramid, RESISTANCE, and a brand-new Boiler Room experience.

Personally, Amnesia has always been my favorite club—it still captures that raw, old-school rave energy. But these days, [UNVRS] is quickly becoming a worthy contender.

Over at Hï Ibiza, I’ll be playing at Joseph Capriati’s Metamorfosi, with other highlights including Glitterbox, The Martinez Brothers, and Black Coffee.

Pacha brings a powerhouse lineup with Music On, Blond:ish’s Abracadabra residency, CamelPhat, Claptone, and unforgettable nights with Bedouin and Honey Dijon.

Of course, Circoloco at DC10 continues to deliver legendary lineups every Monday.

Elsewhere, Pete Tong’s sessions at Blue Marlin are always top-tier, as are sunset sets at Café Mambo, poolside parties, and magical nights at Freddie’s at Pikes—where you might catch David Morales or surprise guests performing in the former suite of Freddie Mercury.

This year also brings exciting plans for 528 Ibiza, a massive outdoor venue set to host unforgettable events.

At the same time, the island’s original spirit remains alive and well—its hippie roots and Balearic soul can still be felt. You’ll find intimate live performances at places like Akasha / Las Dalias and Es Birra, where the vibe is pure and authentic.

And let’s not forget the music on the radio—Ibiza Sonica is my go-to in the car, always delivering the perfect sound for every time of day. Ibiza Global Radio and OpenLab also keep the island’s sound alive with quality programming around the clock.

Not to mention all the amazing music played at the restaurants around the island. For me, it’s a musical heaven.

OYAIDE : What do you foresee for the future of theHUB.Ibiza?

The potential I see for theHUB. is honestly off the charts. The people coming through the doors are top-tier—entrepreneurs, artists, technologists, and visionaries—and everyone’s building something that actually matters. You feel it the second you walk in. People here are operating at a high level, and the connections that happen aren’t just surface. They lead to real projects, real partnerships, and real momentum. They are constantly expanding and always providing amazing opportunities for the community and their members.

theHUB. keeps expanding, not just in space, but in scope. The studio continues to evolve, and we’re excited to welcome more world-class talent who will leave leave behind traces of their magic and memories in our studio. There will be more news soon, so stay tuned.

OYAIDE : I heard that theHUB.Ibiza has grown so much from a small community.

What are your plans for the future?

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but theHUB. studio team has some big things in the works, and we’ll be surrounded (pun intended) with some great talent. Watch this space. 😉

As far as theHUB. as a whole, it’s come from a tight crew of early believers, was literally born from the afterparty, and has turned into an institution. The care for their members is unrivaled, and the way it has organically evolved into what it is now while maintaining its spirit, is inspiring, and it keeps getting better.

Without ruining any surprises, I’ll just say stay tuned. This is only the beginning.
